Linthwaite(75) at St. Margaret
Church, Leicester. George’s occupation is Butcher and his residence at the time of marriage is
Husband Bosworth. Elizabeth’s
residence is W? Both fathers of the couple, Thomas Loomes and John Linthwaite occupations are
Farmers. The witnesses are down as William and Mary Linthwaite.

Linthwaite was baptised January20th 1818 at St Leonard’s, Leicester. She
was the daughter of John Varly

October 1839, in the village of
Fleckney, Leicestershire.
In
the 1841 census George (33), Elizabeth (24) and George (1) are living on
Sibbertoft Lane, Husbands Bosworth.
2. Louisa Linthwaite(77) was baptised on September 20th 1842.
3. Mary Jane
Linthwaite(78) was baptised on
December 9th 1848 and was
buried on 14th January 1849
aged 7 weeks.
4. Mary Jane(79) was baptised on April 10th 1850 and was buried on the April 14th
aged 5 days.
In
the 1851 census George (43)
and Elizabeth (34) along with the
children, George (12) and Louisa
(10) are living on Freemans Yard, Husbands Bosworth. George is down as being
born in Husbands Bosworth as is Louisa,
George
is down as Fleckney and Elizabeth
just says Leicestershire. George’s occupation is Agricultural Labourer as is his son George. Elizabeth Loomes died in 1854 aged 35; she was buried on
February 8th (recorded in the parish church records of All Saints,
Husbands Bosworth) In 1860 George is a tenant living in a house in Husband Bosworth which is up for sale by public auction, click here to read about this story that appeared in the Northampton Mercury August 11.
In
the 1861 census George (51), George (21) and Louisa (19) are living on Bosworth
Hale,
Husbands Bosworth. George’s occupation is Agricultural Labourer, George is Carter and Louisa is Dressmaker.
In the 1871
census George
(61), is living on Walton Road,
Husbands Bosworth with his niece Elizabeth (48) and her husband Charles Goodman (48).
Others living with Charles and Elizabeth are their son Frances
(21), and Elizabeth’s Cousin
Ann Watson (21). They have 2 Servants Martha
Seaton (16) and John Caldwell (19).
Ann
Watson is the daughter of George’s Sister, Frances Mary.
Elizabeth is
the daughter of George’s Brother, John.
Tragically George on
January 6th 1880 was
killed by a passenger train as he walked along the track on his

George aged 73 was buried on
January 9th. (Recorded in the parish church records of All

in 1869, George mentions his son George and daughter Louisa.

church records of All Saints, Husbands Bosworth I came across Louisa Loomes who had a baby girl, Sarah Jane(80) baptised on May 2nd
1860. Sarah Jane Loomes was buried 20th July 1860 aged 3
months.
On
28th July 1864 Louisa
married Edmund Joseph Cave at All
Saints, Husbands Bosworth. Edmund’s occupation
